Quickstart

This guide walks you through creating your first project in Forgent—from importing a tender to making a bid decision.
Prerequisites: You should have a Forgent account and access to a tender document (PDF or Word) to follow along.
Before creating projects, add some basic company information to your Hub. This helps the AI provide better answers.

Navigate to Hub

Click Hub in the left sidebar.

Add Company Information

Fill in your company name, industry, and basic details.

Upload Key Documents

Add certifications, team profiles, or project references that you commonly use in proposals.
You can always add more data to your Hub later. Start with the basics and expand as needed.

Step 2: Create a Project

Go to Projects

Click Projects in the left sidebar, then Create Project.

Upload Tender Documents

Drag and drop your tender documents (PDF, Word, etc.) or click to browse.

Name Your Project

Give your project a descriptive name that helps you identify it later.

Wait for Analysis

Forgent analyzes your documents and extracts key information automatically.

Step 3: Run the Bid Decision Process

Once your project is created, decide whether to pursue the bid.

Run the Checklist

The Checklist helps you answer key questions about the opportunity:

Open Checklist

In your project, click Checklist in the sidebar.

Review AI Answers

Forgent uses AI to pre-fill answers based on the tender documents. Review each answer.

Confirm or Edit

Confirm answers that look correct, or edit them if needed.

Make Your Decision

Based on the completed checklist, decide whether to proceed with the bid.

Check Eligibility

Verify that your company meets the tender’s requirements:

Open Eligibility

Click Eligibility in the project sidebar.

Review Requirements

See which requirements you meet (✓) and which need attention (⚠).

Address Gaps

For any gaps, determine if you can address them before the deadline.

Step 4: Start Working on Tasks

If you decide to proceed, your project shows the tasks needed for submission.

View Tasks

Go to Tasks to see what needs to be done.

Start Writer

Click on a Writer task to begin AI-powered proposal generation.

Track Progress

Monitor task completion and deadlines in the project overview.
