Selecting References to Include

Prioritize projects that:
  • Match your target tenders – Similar industry, scope, or technology
  • Have measurable outcomes – Quantified results are most compelling
  • Are recent – Typically within the last 3-5 years
  • Can be disclosed – You have permission to reference the client
Aim for 10-15 diverse references covering your main industries and service areas. Quality over quantity.

Best Practices

“Delivered on time and budget” is okay. “Delivered 2 weeks early, 15% under budget, achieving 99.9% system availability” is much better.
Use consistent tags so the AI can match references to tender requirements. A project tagged “Healthcare, Cloud, AWS” can be matched to relevant tenders.
Before adding a reference, confirm you can disclose the client name. If not, use “Major German Bank” or similar anonymized descriptions.
Add new projects as they complete. Remove outdated references (typically older than 5 years unless highly relevant).
